As the weather starts to break I'm thinking more about setting a date to go to Ann Arbor for the day with my grandma. We want to visit Krazy Jim's burger place that was featured on the food network. Are there any other really unique places to visit in town for a 60 something year old person and her grandson other than just exploring the city?

Michigan theater.
the schools art museum Corner of university and state street. the law school building also on the corner of university and state. Campus corner (I think) party store with an amazing wine selection. Zingerman's deli. Farmers market (weather permitting) Most people want to see Michigan stadium. Walk, sit, picnic or throw a Frisbee in the arb. |

The Big House isn't much to look at right now, as there are barricades along Stadium Blvd by the BH, as they are adding more seating and new press boxes to the stadium (as U-M finds yet another useless way to blow taxpayer's money, but the city and county can't repair or even plow the roads). There are a lot of beautiful parks in Ann Arbor, and she may enjoy a leisurely drive along Huron River Drive, or enjoy a walk through Gallup park, and can feed the ducks/geese at Gallup, though you're not supposed to.... |

Ha thanks. She's not exactly like an 80 year old grandma, she's younger and pretty spry (with the new hip!) so I guess we will be walking to the burger nazi.

Since you mentioned that you saw it on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, the way you saw it is pretty much how it is. They are called the burger Nazis around here, not so much because of the certain way you have to order, but because they will laugh at you, belittle you, and yell at you if you don't order it their way..if you've never been there, they'll be sure to remind you. There's also a newer burger place across the street from them, though I can't remember the name (something like Quickieburger--the sign shows a lady riding a hamburger--the owner of Krazy Jim's commented by saying "at least she wasn't riding a hot dog"). KJ's BB does have great burgers though, but are very greasy, and not exactly cheap---if you do go there, just remember to order larger than what you may be used to. Their "single" is a lot smaller than a Wendy's/McD's single. If you're looking for a 1/4 lb burger, you prob need to order a triple or a quad, can't remember exactly how big the patties are, but not very. New hip, Huh? Guess if you had come the first week of April, she could have enjoyed Hash Bash, and would've taken away any residual pain she may have!

Haha. Interestingly enough she got the hip about a year ago at U of M in Ann Arbor, but that's as much of the city as either one of us has seen (well I did go to a football game once).
