Default Special needs schools in Michigan

Where are the best special needs schools (both public and private) for those on the autism spectrum (high functioning, but not THAT high functioning) in Michigan?

Where should I be looking?

I couldn't tell you how good it is, but I know of a school called Burger pretty close to me in Garden City.

Burger Elementary for the Autistic
30922 Beechwood Avenue
Garden City Schools - Burger Elementary (broken link)

And here's the "About Page"

There's a location on Cambridge Avenue too. I really can't find any reviews or anything of it but you could look around and maybe give them a call or something.

I would suggest contacting various ISD's (Intermediate School Districts) in MI. They provide Special Services to the schools, whatever the schools are not providing through their own spec. ed. programs. They are grouped by counties. Google MI Intermediate School Districts and you should get a whole list. Then call and ask questions. I happen to work for the MOISD, and service kids with autism in an elementary school resource room. I think our staff is exceptional!

I agree with contacting the different ISD's. I know the Mason/Lake IDS does a real good job, and has for a LONG time now.
