MORE signs of a pulse in our sickly state!
I was downhearted because another small business closed down in the town where I work. But less than 2 weeks afterwards, someone put up a sign announcing that a different business will be opening there soon -- a startling turnaround from other stores around here that close and never re-open.
And maybe a hundred yards up the road from there, an eyesore of a place that the police closed down (a chop shop) was razed last week. Which means someone has plans for that spot. Here hee!
And my condo complex is suddenly fully occupied, after something like 3 years with 25% of the units standign empty and for sale.
Anyone else seeing businesses opening, expanding, upgrading? Homes selling? Any other signs of life?

Just staring to get a few calls about new waters wells. Mostly people just getting ready to go to the bank. The houses sound smaller, I have to ask to size the pump.

This overpriced store full of handmade artisanal dishes and statuary and stuff just went bust. That's the bad news. The good news is that just yesterday, only a few weeks after the place closed, I saw a realtor showing the place to someone.

I wouldn't get excited about one or 2 small businesses.
I see granhomeless is taking ANOTHER trip overseas to talk Co's into opening up in Michigan. Right. Well she's been to Germany & Japan with ZERO results. Why doesn't she keep her butt in this country I ask. You people that re-elected her really messed up.

Well, we have a new Starbucks here. Unfortunately, that's not all that encouraging to me since it's the only place I've been able to find a job since finishing my BA last summer!

Granholm's "working vacations" overseas should be a scandal but most of the people who vote for her are going to support Democrats regardless.

Yes, I'd agree with that "Supporting Democrats regardless"
But I've often wondered if many voted Democrat because they were mad at Bush's performance.
Democrat or Republican, I don't care, Just get the right person in there so the people can thrive.
Granholm has blown me away with her economic plans.

I just don't know on what basis voters re-elected Granholm. She had done nothing impressive, yet won by a decent margin over DeVos. I think the Bush theory may be right.

To get back to the original topic...
People are out and about enjoying the weather here in Muskegon/Norton Shores. I'm seeing more cars in business's parking lots. Some sort of large building is going up in Grand Haven next to the Ottawa County offices.
