You can drive driving through Northern Macomb county. ( Romeo, Richmond, Armada) My husband and I loved doing that.

There's some pretty scenic spots up here in St. Clair County! Lexington to St. Clair (M-25) is a great drive! You get to see the water (Lake Huron and St. Clair River) along with all the beautiful, gorgeous homes right on the water that make you wonder "why not me," but it's still fun!

Now that it's getting warmer you can spend some time in Lexington, which is a quiant little beach town with cute shop, dinners, and beach access.

After the drive you can eat at the historic St.Clair Inn in St. Clair, at the Thomas Edison Inn in Port Huron, or at the Fogcutter also in Port Huron. Each place offers great views of the water, and a romantic setting! The Fogcutter is at the very top of a business building in downtown Port Huron and you can see the water and all the way across the city! It's great at night. Here are some websites you should check out:

I second the Thomas Edison Inn and the Fogcutter. Been to and enjoyed both very much.

Yes, used to like to drive through that area, Stop at the little bakeries and shops and delis along the way and nibble some treats and local fare. Hit some of the local pubs along the drive to soak up some local color. Take a drive to the water and take a stroll, bring a picnic basket with wine/cheese/crackers etc.....

Love the TEI. Have been going for many years.

Better get in there before they close also. Rumor is that the guy who wants to raze it for a casino has been pumping money to keep the doors open.

The most romantic New Year's Eve we ever spent was on Mackinaw Island. There are 3 hotels open, only horse and snowmobile traffic and the snow is beautiful.... The ferries actually break through the ice a little to get you to the island, and then they stop running around the 4th of January! THere was a neat room package that included a nice enough dinner and a split of champagne. Very romantic. And we only called about 2 days ahead of time.
