Leaving Michigan-sad
After a year and a half of being unemployed and approx 65 job interviews I am forced to leave Michigan. I am very sad about it. I love this place. I have a great paying job in Arizona (Phoenix area) and me and my two dogs are off. I am sad to leave and feel bad for anyone in the same situation. I feel forced to leave. Good Luck to everyone in the same situation.

Trust me you are not alone. My husband just left last week for Minnesota to take a good paying job. He too went on interview after interveiw. Because the unemployment is high in the state one job would bring out way more people than normal. Although he had quailfications for all he applied for many people had higher because they couldn't get the jobs they were going for and had to take a lower paying job that they had more quaifications for. I had heard the saying that a Father or Mother must compete with ther High school or college student for the same jobs that they are trying to get for summer. The only problem is the parent need the job to keep the house and put food on the table. Myself and the kids will leave in JUne and like you it will be hard. It is not prefect in any state at this point I don't believe , but if you have a job it can be a lot easier.

Yes -- often moves are just temporary and can be viewed as a learning experience or big adventure. Sometimes they end up not being temporary because someone ends up preferring the new place. If they don't then they'll head back as soon as they are able.
The best way to view it though is that it's the best thing for now and time will tell.

I have several friends who had to take that "big adventure"
They eventually found their way back after 3 or 4 years of personal growth.
At least 2 of them never even put their homes on the market here...just rented them for 2 years and came back when the opportunity presented itself.

Good luck with your move!
I know of people who have already moved to AZ, NM, TX, SD, OH, KY, TN, and the Carolinas. We moved to OH. Gotta do what you gotta do.. just sucks that MI is in that kinda situation.
