I'm very proud of the leadership in Kalamazoo to have put this thing together. We lost most of our papermaking industry along with the closing of the GM plant in 1999-2000. They worked very hard to fill that building with smaller companies instead of letting it rot or tear it down. Then the Kalamazoo Promise was announced 2 1/2 years ago and now this. Thank You!

Default Ouch

I understand we're all in desperate need of some good news, but the company is basically getting a great deal incentive-wise to expand its research tests on animals, not just mice and rats, but dogs, cats, monkeys, etc (per their own website) Growing tumors on these animals for beneficial reasons? Not what I want in Michigan.

Obvious answer to that question.....although NO I do NOT support any kind of testing on animals that cuase pain and suffering. If the public had inquired more as to what "life sciences" meant I doubt the cheering would continue, and how horrible....going into work to gaze into the eyes of a dying dog or cat with massive tumors and internal bleeding....caused by experiments....very sick. Certainly we can find a better way to represent Michigan?

If they really want to test on some small-minded creature's,they should try testing Democrat's and Republican's

Their business is pre-clinical trials of pharmaceuticals.

It's uncomfortable stuff, yes.... but I'm glad it's happening here in the states where the uncomfortable business can be carried out as humanely as possible.
