'Executive orders issued under the law “are of no continuing legal effect. This order is effective upon entry,” the court wrote.'

'Her administration last week quickly reinstituted mask requirements, gathering limits and certain business restrictions with pandemic orders issued by the state health department under a public health law whose origins date to the 1918 flu pandemic.'

'“While today’s motion affirmed that the court’s decision is now law, the governor is continuing to sidestep the ruling by maintaining unilateral control over pandemic policies via broad and poorly defined powers granted to a state department,” said Patrick Wright, director of the Mackinac Center Legal Foundation, which helped bring the federal case that got to the Supreme Court. “We are currently looking at the legality of the governor’s latest actions.”'

Michigan is headed for another complete lockdown. Over 2,000 cases reported today, which is the all time record. Cancel all holiday plans until next April. We did very well in May & June, but in typical Michigan fashion, the idiotic republicans managed to screw it all up and everyone will suffer for decades to come .

Because the number of cases sky rocketed in 3 days?

The events triggering these cases probably happened in late September. There is a 2 week incubation period. The trump rally had close to 5,000 people, mostly boomers in their 50’s and 60’s not wearing masks or distancing. A fraction (Probably around 10%) of those people ended up getting COVID and affecting many others in the state. The UP and west are triggers for this surge, and these areas are huge supporters of Trump. It’s obvious that the rally was a ticking time bomb in terms of cases.

Hmm...well, my daughter lives in Ann Arbor and was telling me just a few days ago that there is quite a burgeoning COVID-19 cluster within the fraternities and sororities at the University of Michigan:

Seems these folks aren't about to let a pesky little thing like a pandemic get in the way of their right to party, and I'm guessing that if you did a political survey amongst these entitled children, you wouldn't find too many Republicans. But please, don't let the facts get in the way of an excuse to place 100% of the blame on one political party/idealogy.

Of the four people I know that have tested positive (luckily all minor cases), three of them are as liberal/left as they come.

That darned Republican institution, the University of Michigan! If only there were a few liberal Democrats around there to get this thing under control!

Cases are surging again. What will we do this time ? I’m rather afraid. How much longer until all this is over.

So many very talented scientists all over the world, are working on the final phase of testing. Just be proactive, as you have been doing.

It will end, and my bet is that most of us will be vaccinated within the year. And it will all just become a lousy memory.
There is so much reason to be optimistic!
