I love living in Muskegon because of all the lakes, state parks and beaches. We have not experienced any crime. We have always lived the waterfront neighborhoods where we can walk to a lake or beach. They are pretty quiet neighborhoods. Downtown has lots of activities with breweries and festivals. There is plenty of work if you have some sort of skill. Most of the jobs are in healthcare and manufacturing. Right now there are plenty of jobs in every industry.

I agree with everyone here. Do not move here as it is going down very fast. The mayor thinks that the way back to economic prosperity is allowing bars on every other corner and letting the bikers do what ever they want. There is no police force whatsoever and the crime is rampant. The city struggles with ways to make money and keep it's businesses from leaving town. Also you will be paying much more in auto insurance since MI refuses to change it's laws. We lived in NY for a time and came back to MI. We are now moving back to NY, land of high taxes but that should tell you just how bad it is here in Muskegon.
