We go back "home" every summer and sometimes at Christmas. We do love the desert, as it can be a very peaceful place.

Phoenix is part of the northern "Sonoran Desert", and it's really not deserted.

The fauna; plant & animal life is incredibly abundant, and the sunsets/weather keep us here.

Sometimes though, I miss that good 'ole fashioned thunderstorm in MI.

We go to Flag occasionally; weather is much like MI's.

You should try Portland, OR. I like MI people better, but they have everything MI does with less humidity and no mosquitos.

In Phenix I had my windows open all "winter." You have a few weeks in the summer where you want to stay indoors but only b/c of the heat. At least you don't have to put on a ton of cloths, worry about getting sick ALL summer or winter, shovel out the snow drifts just to leave the house No humidity to deal with, etc. Concerts/fishing/camping and golf can only be done for a couple of months in the summer. Phenix is a year round city for activities.

I agree. Nothing beats sitting on a beach on Lake Michigan, soaking up the rays and taking a ride on our ski-doo

MIs summers are FAR superior to AZ's. End of story, no comparison whatsoever.

Less humidity in summer, maybe. Winters in Portland are the definition of humid. And damp. And dark. And drizzly.

That's true! Oh, it's awful, but we're talking about summer.

Even right now? We are in Tuscon now. And we have our windows open at night. It cools down to the low/mid 50's at night. Nice and cool. Most days we don't run the a/c. We've kicked it on a couple times when I knew I was going to be baking and didn't want a hot house. But on for a couple hours and then off. And that's having it set at 78. In Michigan/Indiana we had to have our A/C set towards the 70-71 mark to make it comfortable inside the house.

Says so in rule book 2009 article 219.1a paragraph J right?

Just kidding.

I enjoy being able to experience both and find the beauty and positives in them both. They aren't comparable. They are just different. In my opinion.
