I haven't been to downtown GR since we left the area 4 yrs ago. Very interesting to see all the changes in the relatively short period of time!  |

Returning to the initial Photos.... really nice photography!
Ive been to many of those places!.. camped in alot of state parks!
Despite its economy, Michigan is a beautiful state!

If this is what we consider beauty then why do we keep destroying it for our shopping malls and leveled suburbia?

I was in Grand Rapids a couple of weeks ago and its starting to approach the demarcation point of a "big city", from the symbolism of downtown, if nothing else. The most impressive view that I witnessed was entering the Central Business District from Grandville Avenue beginning at Wealthy ST. Someone should take that picture and post it because it encompasses the 5 tallest buildings in the skyline and has a character of New and well preserved old that creates a positive impression.
Grand Rapids is poised to become a NATIONAL mecca in the next 15 - 20 years.....
