These pictures are making me homesick. I grew in Charlevoix and I have many fond memories of summer days spent at Lake Michigan. We live in Denver but are seriously considering a move back, mostly to be with family, but being landlocked out here is driving me crazy! Thanks for posting those beautiful Michigan pictures.

I live in Denver too, and though I was born here I really love Michigan. It has almost been two years since I've been back here and I still dream about moving back to Michigan everyday. If I only had a job there I'd relocate at the end of my lease.

A friend of mine was lucky enough to get a chopper ride through downtown Grand Rapids, and took some amazing pictures. I say "through" because they actually were lower than the tops of the buildings while flying over the river. Check it out!

Default Thank you!!

Thank you all for the gorgeous pictures!! I'm wiping away tears as I type this. I'm sooooo homesick. I've been in Tucson, AZ for a year now and I'm nearly beside myself. I want to come home! I can't stand being without the lakes, trees, and the soft, green grass. We moved out here for the better economy, but the truth is the housing costs are very high and it's just plain too hot! It might take me a while to get back, but I will b back!!

Unemployment rate? Yep, a whole whopping 1 1/2% higher than the average rate in the country right now. That isn't a lot bigger when it comes right down to it.

High taxes???? You don't get out much do you. Check other states first before you make such statements, Michigan is about in the middle of the pack when it comes to taxes.

Crime is unimaginable. You are so right, it is so unimaginable in most places that when something does happen it is shocking to the residents. Detroit has always been one of the top when it comes to crime rates, so that is no big revelation. But to judges the entire state on one region is simply ludicrous.

Yep!!!!!!!! If you want to see high taxes move to SoCA!!!!! High crime? Move to LA....About MI: I can't wait to be there!!! It is AWSOME!!!!!!!!! beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep posting pictures please!!!!!
