Petoskey, from the Apple Tree Inn

not from the Inn - just a gazebo in town

These pics are from Dec 2005... We are from (and still in) Atlanta, and miss this place terribly. We'll be back one day!

Speaking of Ludington, here are a couple of photos from around the Ludington area I took today. They range from Walhalla to the beach by the Ludington State Park.

Maple branch from the Manistee National Forest between Walhalla and Custer.

Pere Marquette River. Walhalla area.

A "sweeper" overhanging the Pere Marquette river. Walhalla area again.

Woods between Custer and Scottville.

Beach by the Ludington State Park.

Waves rolling today on the Lake.

That's all for tonight. I will be out again tomorrow on Hamlin Lake and maybe Pere Marquette Lake as well. One of these days I will have to take the boat out by the Badger for a few shots of the Car Ferry taken from the water.

Went over to Hamlin lake yesterday and took a few more shots. Here are a couple that are not too bad.

Fishing the Upper Bayou.

Swans in the Fall. Beautiful. My sister was showing me how to add frames and simple edging to photos after the trip because she and her Hubby came up to go fishing and afterward we sat on the computer and she gave me a short PhotoShop lesson. Kind of neat.

Colors are coming along nicely around the lake. Thins was taken in Upper Hamlin, just past the Narrows.

Have a few more, but haven't taken the time to resize them so they are not a pain to upload yet. Michigan in the Fall, can't beat it.

Was up north hunting grouse yesterday (don't worry, they're all safe with me in the woods) and really enjoyed a brilliant day just strolling in the woods with no one for miles around. The weather couldn't have been more perfect and just highlighted what Michigan fall is all about.

The pics include a shot of Mio Pond and a couple of a very scenic cemetery overlooking amish country.

Does or can any one post pictures of how Michigan looks like in the part that is not the hand. The part right above Wisconsin. I have always wanted to know what it looks like. Thanks.
