Great pics, Bydand! Love the colors and the water. Ludington is one of my most fav places in MI and if we could find work there, we would be there yesterday. I would even brave the winters for that!
Love the winter pics too. For me, they are best viewed from somewhere warm, but you cannot have lived in MI your 40+ years and not get that cozy "winter" feeling. Like it or not.

A few more from this area (Ludington/Scottville.)
Last run of the season for the Badger. Here she is coming home for the winter lay-up
A few minutes later, same location. Sunset over Ludington.
Small Maple tree in all it's fall glory.
Looked down by the small maple tree in the other photo and noticed this old stump. Wish I knew how many seasons this thing has seen come and go.
And last, but not least. My favorite thing about Fall in Michigan. Good Northern Pike fishing. This is somewhat small, but it was fun.

Very nice photos, especially the aerial view. I grew up in a little town, Lum, that is now a ghost town, but when I visited last year I was suprised to see how well it has been taken care of. Thanks for your pics.

Well thank you both for your suggestions. To me it just goes to show how beautiful Michigan must be when it starts a lively debate over the best part! I know I will not be disappointed no matter which of the many lovely area's I visit. I do plan on seeing the coastline and getting in as much of the small town charm as possible without over planning and driving the entire time. I am an explorer by nature (I get it from my grandfather) and I usually end up trying to cover too much ground when I visit a new region. It's interesting to hear why people who know and love Michigan appreciate all their part of the world has to offer. Oh, and just so you all know...phenry is a woman! LOL! Henry is the last name...not the first.
