I really do think Tahquamenon is at its best in winter, the lower falls is a bit of a hike but the upper falls are always open and you can always stop and grab a bowl of soup in the brewery after your walk.
Whitefish point and west to Grand Marais are probably one of my favourite places on earth, Superior is just so vast I can watch her for hours. I have literally dozens of photos of that area taken at all times of the year, still winter is best none of those pesky 'stable flies/sand flies' around.

Yes they sure are beauty's !
I left this on the Detroit board , but I came upon a website that displays postcards from the past and will give you a look at Michigan city's and how they looked back in the days of penny postcards, enjoy . all States are available .

I live out in Paw Paw. My g/f's mom lives in Mattawan out off of Drape Rd in between the 1 lane railroad bridges.
