Thanks for this thread. I am from N. Indiana, but spend most of my summers in Michigan near Traverse City. I am SO ready for the summer season to start I am looking everywhere I can for Michigan stuff & pics.
I for one cannot understand why more money isn't dropped into Michigan's economy. It is the most amazing place ever. SO much to see and do. I think my husband and I alone keep the wine industry going. We're almost out, hurry up Memorial Day!!

Looks like one of my favorite times of the year is here now. The fruit trees are starting to blossom!
All the bands of white you see in this photo are Apple trees in blossom
It is so nice to slowly drive by with the windows open and smell the blossoms.
A couple of ones that are a bit closer to the Apple blossoms.

From a former Michigander
I have travelled around the US and it has made me realize how most parts of Michigan are beautiful! People that have never been there think that its either all farmland or all like Detroit. But I tell them how it really is. I am thinking of moving back there-but am deciding which city and area. The FRIENDLIEST people live in the midwest-I say this after living on the west coast, east coast, and the south. I am proud to be a Michigander.

Here are a couple from a short drive around the area this morning.
Back road between Ludington and Scottville (Conrad Road)
A small Montmorency Cherry orchard. (The type of cherry, not the location) Just south of Ludington.
This one isn't very good, but it has a cherry orchard in front and to the back on the right side is an apple orchard. On Hawley Road east of the Pere Marquette highway south of Ludington.
Barn on the corner of Meisenheimer Road and the PM highway.
A support boat for Hard Hat Divers working in Lake Michigan by the Consumers Power Hydro station south of Ludington on South Lakeshore drive.
And one from a couple of days ago. The lighthouses at Grand Haven.
