Don't mean to burst your bubble but do some reading of scientific studies done on the water and the fish. No argument the pictures are beautiful but as usual good looks are deceiving on occasion. What looks pristine is actually sterile and not in a good way. Colorless, odorless toxins, (and no, not the naturally occurring ones).

Sure, they do warn people about eating too much Great Lakes fish. But it's not like the water is unsafe to swim in. Not any worse than the Gulf of Mexico, I would imagine (maybe even cleaner). Otherwise, lakefront property on the Great Lakes wouldn't be some of the most expensive in the country.

Wow, just browsing the thread.....some AWESOME pics guys!
Here are some pics from this year...
WINTER 2009 IN THE DETROIT AREA....
Its not as scenic as in the northern part of the state, but winter is still picturesque in southeast MI. It was a harsh winter in the Detroit area, actually more comparable to a typical winter in northern MI.
