That is the Mackinaw Bridge and it joins the Lower Peninsula of Michigan with the Upper Peninsula.
I'll post a couple more photos of my area of Michigan later this evening. I have a baseball game to go watch in a few minutes.

The first time I saw the Mackinac bridge was in the early 60's on our way to Newberry to pickup a logger who lived way back in the woods .
You should read the history on how they built the Mackinac Bridge, it's very interesting

My dad told me stories about the hours they use to wait for the ferry before the bridge was built, lines of cars all the way to Cheboygan and past.
How many here have walked the bridge? Great time!

And for the heck of it, a quick pic of Higgins Lake. Had to go since we were so close.

I was 3 when the Macinac bridge opened. I remember friends and neighbors getting into converations with my folks about the "Mackinac Striaghts" as it was called back then. I didn't know what they were talking about until I got older

To steal a phrase from Monty Python:
And now for something completely different...
Took the kids and one of their friends to Michigan's Adventure today. It had been years since last time I was there, and if it has been a while for you, you should go. It has really grown over the passing of time and we spent a LONG time there today and still didn't get to ride everything. The Waterpark is a blast and has a bit of something for everybody.
Looking down part of "Shiverin' Timbers"/ I had forgotten just how long this coaster is, as well as how much fun. 65 MPH never felt so fast.
Some of the Waterpark side of things.
Can you hear him laughing?
And don't forget "Thunderhawk"
Had a great day, and really enjoyed some great West Michigan weather today. A bit warm for me (mid 80's), but the water rides kept it nice. Another beautiful sunny day with blue skies and the laughter of your kids, what more could a Parent ask for?

Bydand, is that in Grand Rapids? I didn't even know it was there. They definitely need better advertising. Looks like a lot of fun.

Just north of Muskegon a few miles. It is a blast! http://www.miadventure.com/ This gives you a list of all the rides. Both the waterpark and the ride park are included in one price which is nice. They have a couple coasters over 120 feet tall, the biggest being the wooden one "Shiverin' Timbers". I love the wood coasters myself, my oldest son tried as many as he could today and loves them. Yea, I finally have a roller coaster partner (my wife HATES them with a passion).
