Been all through the PNW and you are right Michigan is in a different league. But don't worry, the minors isn't a bad place to be, if you can't be in the Majors like Michigan is. I'll take MI over the PNW any day of the week.

See that? It is wonderful that this country has people with so many different likes and dislikes. Makes the world go 'round and stops any one state from being more overly populated over another!

Plus, it is truly wonderful that this great country even has something for everyone!!!

I'm origanally from Michigan and have visited many of the places within those pics.

In fact the August 15,16 and 17th my boyfriend and I are taking a trip to the Upper Pen of Michigan because I want to show him where my roots began.

Those pics make me homesick.

Terrific!! Gonna be up Near TC (Interlochen) camping for a week Starting August 7th. We have never been to the sleeping bear dunes, and cant wait! We did go to the Sable Dunes in the U.P a few weeks ago, and they were awesome also.

Yowzers! I've never made it all the way over to the Lake Michigan side of the dunes. Incredible!

Beautiful shots!! The water just looks beautiful! I love the sand dunes. My personal faves are the ones at Silver Lake! The older I get, the tougher it is for me to climb them!! (hate to admit that!)

It is actually on Pierce Stocking Drive. If you've never done that it is awesome! It is a scenic one way drive through the dunes with little stop-offs and the lake michigan dune overlook is one of them....one of the best places to watch a sunset! 450ft down...I would never attempt it!

at log slide in the grand sable dunes I went half-way down that once and that was plenty far!

Oh come on! Going down is the fun part, it's that long never ending climb back to the top that is the PITA!

If they could pick me up by boat at the bottom it would be Golden. But alas, the only way back up is either die of a heart attack 1/2 way up and have the Coasties come get you, or climb back up that sucker. Either option is hard on a person .

For all of you that have NOT gone there and seen the drop, you have to go. It is spectacular and photos just do not do justice to how high it really is there. Great view and it really isn't that bad going back up if you take your time and don't try to keep up with the kids who think it is great fun to run up and down that baby. I told my wife I was going to plod back up like the fat 45 year old guy I was and they could wait up top for me.
