MichiganMovesSouth is on a distinguished road
Default Van Buren TWP

Hello,
I know, I know my name hints at me moving South but I'm really second guessing it now! I don't know what it is - I think SC (where we were/maybe are still are looking) would be too hot for me. It's really a great area but I just don't know what to do...

So, we live in Canton and have been casually looking at homes in the area for some time now. Because of my fiance working in Monroe we can't go too far north in Canton. I've noticed there are a lot of great houses at great prices just south of Canton in Van Buren Twp - basically between Michigan Ave and 94 - Ecorse area.

I've read on here that Belleville is not the greatest - well these homes are north of there. We actually lived in Belleville for one year right after college - I didn't think it was that bad Am I missing something? It seemed to be somewhat of a poor area but I never felt unsafe.

Does anyone have info/thoughts on Van Buren Twp or Belleville for that matter?? Thanks!

If you're in plymouth-canton schools, stay where you are. Moving to a lesser school district will not help resale value.
