I have found living in Taylor to become more and more impossible everyday. The neighbors around me are eager to call the city and report ANY "violation" they might view and the city seems to be on their side, reaffirming their harassment....the ordinance office is despotic! I'm warning all who are considering taylor their home...RETHINK ! DONT DO IT! There really isnt much here anyhow, except heavy taxes, plummeting home values and congested streets!

Having lived in Taylor for 40 yrs..all my life..I have seen a lot..changes for the good and mostly for the bad.

Once again King Priebe is mayor--remember the police officer with 2 or 3 brutality charges?

Then he was mayor, after retiring from the TPD with his time and then left the mayor's office claiming his police service(AGAIN) and mayoral time for another pension--this time a hefty 50K + retirement. Priebe then Went to work for the county (remember McNamara) then retired from that job with 20K + pension and came back to be mayor after trashing his hand picked replacement PATONIAK---in the election..

The city is divided into 4 distinct areas--imagine a line down Telegraph and another down Goddard road.

The area along wick road from Mortenview to Holland is one of the nicer areas. (excluding the new urban sprawl most of which is unfinished)

The SOUTH WEST area (Eureka and beech daly) is and has always been SIN CITY--for obvious reasons.

The NORTH WEST between beech and inkster / wick and van born is the real red side of town.

The NORTH EAST from Telegraph to Pelham / VanBorn to Ecorse is (was) solid blue collar hard working.

The SOUTH EAST Telegraph to Pelham / Goddard to Pennsylvania was a mix of trailer type people and blue collar nad white collar..

The police force has always had a reputation for being...unsavory...to say the least.

City government is generally out for itself...the schools have declined steadily since I was in kindergarten to after I graduated..

And now it seems the city has indeed convinced everyone it is GOOD to spy on others and alert the city whenever they see ANYTHING (and that means ANYTHING ) that is questionable,suspcious or they think SHOULD be illeagal if it isn't already.

West Point street.... cypress telegraph... My nieghbors have been tormenting me for 15 months and the police have turned their back. My lawyer says I have a giant lawsuit..It all started when i let the neighbor kid rent a room in my basement. I am 42. He said it would be 2 weeks. 3 days after moving in my basement rent a center shows up and delivers a giant screen tv into my basement. 3 days later his girlfriend moved into my basement. Then started 2 months of party central. bringin the bar home. drunk cooking. My side door opening and closing all night long. I had had enough and he was to move out. the day he moved out his parents and him showed up at my door saying i disrespected him. He is 24. they tried to start a fight with me and i had to slam the door. the next day i went to the taylor police and they refused to take a report.

This started a onslaught of torment from this crazy family.2 doors down.. threats dumping trash on my car, more threats, text threats, email threats, tire slashing, lug nut loosening, house egging, supergluing house locks... the list goes on... I went to the taylor police 5 times over this stuff and was refused any police reports

I was told 1. anyone can threaten anyone, you cant threaten the president 2. you have to get hurt before we will do anything 3. if you dont like the way we do things around here, move out of taylor


The first time the kid tried to fight me was 7 am. I awoke to finding my trash on top of my girlfriends car she called him and he came to my door with 3 of his friends behind him, threw off his coat and yelled CMON lets go! i went back in as I was outnunbered by a bunch of 20 year old. i went to the taylor police and again was refused a police report.

Then the kid tried to hire a big neighbor guy to beat me up for 50 dollars. the neighbor guy came and told me. he thinks im a nice guy.
I came home from work and saw the kid on my driveway. I asked him why he did this and he came at me again and got nose to nose. He then called for his mom and she came running with a bunch of kids. it was then me against the family and i went into my house... backing down again

The big stuff started when i came home for lunch and the kid was in my backyard with his pit bull pooping on my property. i approached him and asked him to leave my yard. He started yelling obscenities at me. My girl heard the commotion and came out of the house. He called my girl a F****** ****. Then he put his fist in her face. I warned him to step back. He turned to me and told me to f off. He then stepped back, took out his peircing and swung at me. I ducked his punch and I laughed at him. he swung again and I ducked again. I am 42 and havent fought in 20 years. i jumped on him and WITHOUT HITTING HIM put him in a rear naked choke UFC hold. At this point, I am defending my home and my property. We fell to the ground and I made him submit. as i held him down I told him it was over I won now leave me alone. He told me wait till my stepdad gets home. I yelled at my girl to grab a shovel i was letting him up. he ran to his car and left. He knew he had swung first.

I CALLED THE TAYLOR POLICE 35 minutes later they arrived and refused to take a report. I got agitated becuase of this and they threatened to arrest me. I got extremely mad.

TIME TO CROSS THE LINE....

2 days later Me and my girl turned the corner and was greeted by a crowd of people in front of my house. I attempted to pull in my driveway and the entire family attacked my car. they jumped on the hood and tried to kick out the windshield. also one tried to punch out the window as i looked into it. This was like straight out of a movie and I was terrified for my life. I jammed the gear in reverse and backed out with the kid on my hood. I dialed 911 and the screamed into the phone. At this time my 16 year old summer employee was comin to visit. He drove right into the middle of this situation. The 36 year old stepdad pulled him from his car and beat him down. he escaped to his car and drovw away. the police came and once again attempted to arrest me. It was 10 against 1 and they would not believe me. They escorted me into me house and the mob sat in front of my house taunting me.

Monday I went downtown to file for a restraining order. A court date came. We all arrived at court and I feared for my safety. The judge DENIED IT DUE TO LACK OF POLICE REPORTS!!

We got sent to MEDIATION... what a pile of crap The family got aggressive at mediation and once again i feared for my safety
they signed a paper saying they would leave me alone.
The very first day they violated it.

Its now been 10 months of continued harrassment since court. Taylor police tell me to get a camera and START OVER... CAn you believe that?

They also told me I have no case due to lack of police reports.. Is this some kind of crazy irony? Does not the side of the car say TO SERVE AND PROTECT?

Hey, I grew up in North West Taylor and I'se proud of being a redneck. (I assume you meant redneck when you said red). I remember having neighbors who had multiple cars parked in their front yard and half of them didn't run. Then there was the feud that broke out one summer. Yup, redneck all the way.

It amazes me that they have subdivisions in Taylor with ordinances that are enforced. If you tried to tell any of my neighbors what they could or could not do on their own property, you were likely to get shot.

As to the schools, I graduated from Taylor Center in 1977. There's no way they could decline. They were already at the bottom. I was, absolutely, unprepared for college. I had to retake my senior year at a community college before taking college courses. Of course I was a D student in high school (I was an A student in college. Amazing what happened when someone actually started teaching me.)
