Sorry Paddington, pasty is pronounced with a short "a" as in apple, not a long "a" as in racy. Common mistake. LOL

Default Barb's Pasties - Clawson

if you're in the northern suburbs of Detroit, try Barb's Pasties (and their delicious pizza and cookies--all homemade) on Main Street, south of 14 Mile Road (just north of Royal Oak in Clawson)...they come very close to true, authentic UP pasties! If they don't have any warm and baked for you, they often have them cold, which you can take home and bake yourself.

Darn it all..you all are making me hungry. Since my mother-in-law is a Yooper, she makes some really great pasties....maybe I'll have to ask her for some....haven't had one in a while....they're not too popular in this neck of the woods.

Now with all the ethnic restaurants in A2, don't you think they could find room for one measley little pasty shop?!?!?!?! LOL I know lots of folks in A2 who would patronize it!

No kidding. I can find Ethiopian, plenty of Chinese, Japanese, German, Greek, Irish pubs, Thai, Vietnamese, the usual chain places, plenty of bars near Central campus, but can't find anywhere that has pasties!!! I know I would be there if I could find one! Hmm, now if Zingerman's Deli only offered pasties...they could sell TONS of pasties for $14.00 each, and plenty of A2-ites would line up around the block to buy 'em! Seriously, if anybody knows of somewhere in the A2/Ypsi area that has pasties, let me know....I don't care for the frozen Albie's Pasties from GFS....

I'm thinking you, your MIL, and I need to go into the pasty making business. Maybe we could get the pasty concession for The Big House. Let's see 87,000 pasties at $14.00 per times 15 home games..... I think it might push me into a higher tax bracket!
