I love indian food personally, so I have to suggest to you: Raja Rani. here's their website: Raja Rani Restaurant
400 S Division St, Ann Arbor
(734) 995-1545

They have a pretty good and well-stocked lunchtime-only buffet.. NOT my favorite indian restaurant in the world, but it's decent. There's a bunch of great indian restaurants in metro-detroit, but they're far (at least 30 miles) from Ann Arbor.

Lion11 is on a distinguished road
You have to go to Zingerman's! Many will tell you that it's overpriced, but it is something that you will only find in Ann Arbor, plus the food is great! The deli is downtown, but the roadhouse is more sit down. Deli: Zingerman's Delicatessen | www.zingermansdeli.com | You Really CAN Taste the Difference!
roadhouse:
Zingerman’s Roadhouse
Enjoy!

Is Seva still in business? Even if you are not a vegan, it is wonderful food and very filling. How about Afternoon Delight? DH loves their toasted breakfast bagels with peanut butter, banana, pine nuts, drizzled with honey.

Pizza? I remember Cottage Inn from my childhood, fifty years ago.

Things to do? There are lots of interesting shops in downtown, from main Street all the way over to State, and beyond. And of course, there is Kerrytown, across from Zingerman's. There are six museums: a hands-on museum in downtown, there is a small historic home on Division (is it called the Kempf house?), the U-M art museum on the diag, an archeology museum across the street, on E. University is the natural history museum, and out on Packard (I think) is the Cobblestone farm.

You can go stand on the steps of the Student Union, where JFK proposed the formation of the Peace Corps. My sister was there and was inspired to led a life of service for children's rights and working with the poor. Her memorabilia is now part of the Freedom exhibit at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn.

Walk the halls of the old engineering building and be inspired by James McDivitt and Ed White, the all U-M crew of Gemini IV or Al Worden, James Irwin, and David Scott, the all U-M crew of Apollo 15. You might even feel what inspired Janet Guthrie, the first woman to win the Indianapolis 500. At the law school, you can see where Clarence Darrow studied. Walk by the medical labs and maybe you will see where Jack Kevorkian studied pathology. U-M has it share of other graduates with notoriety; Ted Kaczinsky, Tom Hayden, Richard Loeb, and Madonna all walked the campus over the years. Judith Guest, Arthur Miller, John DeLoren, Lucy Liu, Ann B. Davis, Cathy Guisewite, Christine Lahti, David Alan Grier, James Earl Jones, Gilda Radner, and Chris Van Allsburg all studied Fine Arts. Or go down along the sports complex: the list of accomplished athelets and sports journelists is staggering, including the 38th president of the United States, Gerald Ford.

You shouldn't have any trouble staying busy in Ann Arbor. Have fun.

If bars interest you, I went to one called Ashley's which has like at least 70 beers to choose from. It's a pretty small, intimate setting but that's what makes it great IMO.

I think B&Bs would offer a more quaint and personal visit, including a much more scrumptious breakfast.. Unless you go stay at a Hampton Inn, you probably won't be that excited.. and Hamptons are not any more personal than the next guy really.. It's just a name and increased cost.. You won't really notice the extra $50.

If you stay at a B & B, find one that's close to the city center so that you can easily walk to join the rest of Ann Arbor's pedestrian culture.
