The last house we rented in the city was three blocks from the college, 3-4 bedrooms (one was a walk through), had all utilities included and was $1000 a month. And it was not a very nice place!! We only took it because we were short on time (wife was due to deliver baby #2 soon) and we had to find a place that would let us have our large dog.
Our current place we're renting while looking to buy is a nice 3 bedroom, on 17 acres, about a mile and a half s.w. of Marquette Mountain as the crow flies, and is $800 a month (no utilities included).

gosh, i just realized that i did not respond to your post. sorry about that. i lived in the town of Gwinn as KI Sawyer was still open when i was there. i lived in a duplex right on M-35, then moved to a two-story duplex downtown which had w/d hook-ups. my son attended pre-k and kindergarten in gwinn. he just graduated high school so that will give you an indication on how long it's been since i lived there. i loved it though and miss it terribly. seems that while i lived there i complained and now that i've been gone for this many years, i'm ready to go back. when we go for visits, i seem to stay in the garden penninsula or manistique area. i have visited the casino outside of escanaba once or twice, but that's about it. i haven't had the chance to get back to marquette/gwinn area. i need to make a point to do that the next time i visit.

Several different worlds exist in the UP. I guess thats what we all like about living here.
Its not your average slice of Americana , however , hidden within , are the same old things found everywhere else, its just that we do it all with a simple flair. I hope the NEW never wears off , for this Cowboy, time will tell I guess. Everyday , I run across something new , to me , the people , the scenery , the lifestyles........
