yeah, i figure the kazoo airport would be kinda small... so it is similar to here.
so i just got a call back from gull prairie and they were telling me that i pretty much have the apartment assuming i sign the lease when i get up there. i'm just asking about how safe it is because people were telling me that it's near comstock and they told me that comstock was a bad area? i know pictures don't tell the whole story, but i've seen photos of the complex itself and the individual units and it still looks relatively nice and new.
awesome there's a starbucks! i was told that the apt complex is across the way from a super walmart and a bunch of restaurants and a movie theater? what else is there?

Comstock is fine. I wouldn't worry terribly about bands of hooligans coming over to the apartment complex and vandalizing your car or anything.
Gull Prarie is a nondescript suburban apartment complex. All the goods and bads that go with that kind of place will apply here too.

lol i like that word: "hooligans" haha. i really hope it is a safe area and as you said, it's part of suburbia so it *should* be ok. i did want a garage as part of the rent lol.
anyway, i've been doing my last bit of research online with other apartments around kalamazoo but i think the gull prairie complex is it. i guess for the price, location (though i still prefer where tall oaks is), amenities, and proximity to stores it beats everything else hands down.

COMSTOCK IS JUST FINE!!!
Gull Prairie really isn't even close to any single family homes.
Its surrounded by strip malls, stores, a golf course, and another apartment complex, Gull Run.
A sampling of chain stores close to you: Blockbuster, Papa Johns pizza, Walgreens, Beaners, Panara Bread, KFC, Burger King, Applebees, Bennigans,
Arbys, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Quiznos, ....and more!

thanx guys! that info really helps out... good to know i'm not in the ghetto or in the boondocks lol.
so i pretty much have everything finalized with gull prairie apts. i'll be paying $726 a mth (which includes rent, garage, cable tv, and 3Mbps internet)... which is still cheaper than what i pay now for rent alone down here in mississippi. the only "bad" thing is i probably will go with their cable service - it's like 22-25 channels without comedy central... if i wanted to, i could upgrade to AT&T dish network but i don't feel like paying over $40 per month + $5/mth for the receiver when i'm not going to watch tv that often anyway.
regarding the electric bill... the complex covers gas, which is for heating and cooking, and water. cuz the area will get extremely cold during the winter - early spring time, i wonder how much the electric bill will be. i'm asking because i heard someone mention in a different apartment that even though the heating is included, the electric bill that the resident pays is still high and that's from heating?? if anyone knows what i'm talking about, please elaborate. i really hope that's not the case...

So i don't know whether it a Comstock Public School district or Parchment Public School district. i want my daughter to go to Comstock Public School district so i can get this straight.

Since you work downtown at the Radisson, you might try a place called Bell's. They have wonderful food and awesome beer. and a cool beer garden. My dad hangs out there all the time. They have local bands there on the weekends and if ya like Bluegrass music, they have one of the best bluegrass bands around. Curly is awesome!!!!!!!!!!
