The "food" of Michigan! If I were to move away I couldn't do without the shopping, especially Somerset!
And yes, I've shopped in many other comparable out of state and international locations, but there is nothing like Somerset I've yet experienced

Did some one mention Vernor's ? :-) I'm thinking only a Michigander knows what Vernor's is. I was in a grocery store in Florida buying a 12 pack of Vernor's and the cashier looked at it kind of funny then asked if it was an alcoholic beverage!!
Please...just take me home to Michigan!

Yeh, Central Market puts Whole Foods to shame. Cheaper and much more to choose from.

I'm from Mi, but haven't lived there since the late 60's. I just remember the clear glass, long neck bottles from when I was a kid.

I remember my mom making us Vernors floats. And I now have a huge craving for one.

I did not realize that Blue Moon was a midwestern (and mainly Michigan) thing. I went to get ice cream the other day (the first time in over the year I have lived here) and said "No Blue Moon?" and the girl asked me "What?". She had no clue. I came home and looked it up and apparently, it is no where to be found here
There is no ice cream better than Mooney's Blue Moon!
