I lived in MI for 5 years back in the 90s and I can't say that I miss the food. I do get the occasional Coney craving, though. I can get Vernors in our local HEB so that's cool.

I guess maybe its different when you were raised on it. There are soooooo many things I miss about Michigan. If I can just get Vernors here in Houston I'll be content till I can get home for a visit. I've asked my local HEB to stock Vernors and they said they would "look into it"

Yeah, you're absolutely right. I grew up in NY and I would (almost) kill for a nice, chewy bagel (with lox from Zabars) right about now...

Another thing I miss about Detroit is Better Made chips. My wife ordered a gift basket for me for Christmas a few years back and it was great!

We've been living in Buffalo, NY and while they have a lot of restraurants it's mostly Italian and pizza and wings. I really miss the great Mexican restraurants in the Detroit Metro area and A&W burgers, Vernors, the only ginger ale they have is Canada Dry, YUK!

The NY pizza's have crust as thin as a pancake and hard as a rock.... sure do miss our local pizza parlor.

Wah.... I want to go home!
