I'd put the taste of a good old fashion Michigan Pig Roast up against the taste of most of the Texas BBQ I've had. I have nothing against Texas - the people are wonderful and I do like the warm weather. I just miss Michigan for a lot of things.

And someone mentioned about comfort foods. Well, its always been said that good ole southern cookin is the best.... not to me. It's full of potatoes and grits. Yuck! I like potatoes, but not in every meal.

I've never had Morels before, and I don't usually care for mushrooms.... But ya never know, maybe I'd like 'em.

Ever heard of boiled peanuts? That's common down here.....eew.
Back 40 years or so we went to a cider mill located in one of the northern suburbs of Detroit every fall before a football game for cider and donuts and they definately made their own cider. It's made right there in front of everyone who entered the mill. And who can forget the all you can eat chicken in Frankenmuth? Or the Polish restaurants in Hamtramek? Anyone for ducks blood soup?

My background is Polish, would love to check that out!

I'm moving back to MI, as soon as work pops up for us. So This is all good to remember!

Although, I'm not interested in anything with blood.

Yes, although a lot of people here make their own. I am a pico de gallo fan as well. Yummy! We found some good mexican food in Mexico City (I think that's what is was called,) around the Detroit area.

How about Sanders Hot Fudge sauce? Or Olga's? There used to be an Olga's in Houston years ago, but I believe it is long gone now.

You can get Vernor's pretty much everywhere in the country these days, but you can't usually get it in much else but cans. How about Faygo Red Pop?
