Once where I live which is far from Michigan, I was in a small independent grocery store and saw they had Vernors on the shelves so of course I bought some and commented to the grocer that it was great he had it, he said some customer begged him to supply it, and they would buy it regularly but he had never before heard of it. It's easy to make a store like that be your main grocery.

Our store here in California has Vernors. We aren't big soda drinkers but my husband does like his Vernors. My father in law from Michigan always called it pop even after living here for 40 years. We are moving in about 3 weeks to Michigan so I'll have to start calling it pop I guess.

I miss:
Vernors
Halo Burger
Whitey's (fish in Davison)
Italia Gardens (locations in Flint and Davison)
Blue Moon (my absolutely favorite ice cream flavor!)
I now live in NC. I can find Squirt if I search for it. It is not easy, but possible!
For all of you searching for Faygo, check out your local Dollar Tree!! My DT sells 3 liters!!

I grew up in Michigan and ther eare many things I miss ( as well as some I don't ) but in the food category definitely the Vernors, apples and blueberries. I remember we used to use a blender to mix Vernor's and vanilla ice cream and my mother called it a "boston cooler". Needless to say when IU moved to Boston years later I learned that they had never heard of such a thing (kinda like french fries I guess ).

What!? That's awesome. I would have given that man all my business, lol.
When I was down in MS visiting my military hubby (this was a couple of years ago) we had something called "Krystal Burger". Ah, it was a poor imitation of White Castle.
I was pregnant at the time my mom sent the Vernors and I was CRAVING the stuff. I'll never get pregnant outside of Michigan again, lol.

LOL - thats BOILED peanuts. You find them for sale off side roads throughout Georgia. Actually they aren't bad. A little gummy though for my taste. You can even get canned boiled peanuts in a lot of grocery stores down there. Another southern food that surprised me is fried chicken gizzards. You can even get those in gas stations that have food counters

I can get Vernors up here--but only in 6-packs and it's about twice as expensive as the other major pop brands. We were visiting family earlier this summer in MI and I just had to get Vernor's when I saw it in 12 packs and on sale!

The gas station that I frequent here in Phoenix has Faygo Redpop.
Little Caesar's & Domino's have a presence here too.
No shortage of Tigers fans at the ballgame last May either.
