So far so good, I realize that we have only been here for 6 days, but I already feel that we are finally home.
So where did you land?

I lived in Battle Creek and liked it. It depends on what your used too. Kalamazoo is a bit bigger and has a couple of colleges, may have a bit more urban feel. Battle Creek is smaller sized for easy get around, daily shopping, schlepping kids to soccer. When I was there Lakeview and Harper Creek had the best school reputations (there's only 4 systems I think, add Battle Creek proper and Pittsfield north of town).
I don't remember Springfield.

We lived in Lincoln. It's alright just wasn’t for us. It's a big college town and there isn't much to do for kids. The worst part for us was the hot humid summers. It was miserable out and even my kids who like to be outside wouldn't go out much. I've only been to Omaha twice; I think that we had moved there it would have been better so much more to do. Except you still have the brutal summers. The people are friendly enough though. I guess it depends on your situation.

Galesburg... good job, nice little town. Jaunt over to Ft. Custer State Rec. Area in Augusta some time... great hiking, biking, camping and even a beach. It's a fun spot for kids.
