Has nothing good happened anywhere in Michigan in the last four days?

Let me think...oh yes, I'm going camping in a week. I'll spend four nights and five days in Traverse City, Leelanau/Sleeping Bear, Charlevoix and the Straits of Mackinac. I haven't been that far north in two years, and I'm really excited.
Oh, and it's been mild and sunny here in GR. I like that

Closing in on the baseball game I am taking the family to in GR to watch the Whitecaps play this Thursday. That is good news, the youngest won't have to ask 100 times a day how long before we go to the game after Thursday. Then Friday it is off to the John Ball Zoo with the Ruffians for the morning.
Another good news tidbit: The Salmon are getting closer to the rivers and should start in earnest in a couple of weeks if we have some more cooler nights.

I was up in the UP in 2006, I was just a kid the first time I seen it. When I lived in SoCal, I watched a Biograghy about how and when it was erected. Amazing.

The Muskegon area has had a successful festival season. Attendance was way up at Bike Time and Rothbury, and Summerfest and Unity did well too.

We made it to Michigan! We close on our house today, Lord willing and then we spend the next couple of weeks settling in. My kids are so excited.

WELCOME!!!! Have a blast, and don't forget to take some time and look around the new area during the settling in time. A break from the boxes to go poke around for an hour or so is a great way to break the tedium of unpacking.

thanks, we are waiting now, something about a land title that was improperly filed by the former owners.... we will probably not get in till tomorrow. We decided either way to spend another night in the motel. That way our beds will be there when we are there! We have to start a bank account now any thoughts on Independence bank?
