Default Are any school systems good up north?

We're relocating to Gaylord,Alpena or Houghton Lake.If these areas are all generally seeing retirees moving there, are the school systems suffering? If enrollment is dropping and budgets as well, how can they attract good teachers?Somebody please give me some good news about their schools.

Of those 3 I personally would pick Gaylord. I lived there for quite some time and both brothers graduated from there. Good schools then and still are good schools from talking to friends who stayed in the area and put their kids through the system.
