They are still around. These 5 are in the SE corner. There are drive-ins still around all over the state as well. Clydes in the Soo and St. Ignace is one that pops into my head.

There is one in Lake City (Molly's) that recently went for sale, and now it appears to be closed. Every time I drive past, it makes me sad, because we frequented the place and have fun memories. They had good food-so I wonder what other factors led to the closing. Can a hard-working person with a dream still make it happen in northern MI?

There is the Cherry Bowl in Honor. I didn't take the time to watch the pics, maybe it was already on there. Welcome to the Cherry Bowl Drive-In Theatre!

My Dad, who is in his late 80's used to go up to LC with his family as a kid, to visit relatives and my Grandfather had even tried his hand at farming in the area at one time. Anyway....... He says that they used to watch movies on the side of one of the buildings there in the summer and that there were sometimes boxing matches set up in an outside ring. I think of that every time I drive through there.

That's too bad, I have eaten there in the past if it is the one I am thinking of (the old Dog N Suds place). I like drive-ins personally. And, yes I think hard-working people can still make it in northern Michigan, just have to make wise choices.

I remember an A&W Drive-In Theater in Manton, Mich. We went as a family to watch "Black Beauty".

There is an A & W in Trenton. I read somewhere that that is the first A & W, but I am not sure. Anyone know?
