All the other ones in the area are having small drops in enrollment, but ours has gained students the last few years. We gained 80 this year over last so far which is a 5% increase in size.

I'm in Japan - but left Michigan years ago directly after college. That was 17 years ago, and Michigan didn't seem worth staying then either

Okay, seriously.... I hate to sound condescending and I really don't often feel compelled to use the "big city" vs. "small town" card... but you've got to be kidding me, right?

9000 people and you're talking about.... "traffic"? I definitely don't think that's the type of traffic preferentialtreatment was talking about. He's talking about rush hour in Detroit, which has gone from probably 1.5-2 million commuters on main trunkline routes down to around half that in the last two years.

Obviously you're looking at this from a small-town perspective, and I can appreciate that (seriously, I'm a little jealous really). I can't blame you honestly, even when I lived in Colorado Springs (pop. +/-300k) I laughed when people called it a "big city". I guess you just have to live in a metropolis for a while to get it (although, again, I couldn't blame you if you never wanted to set foot in one). The idea of judging how busy a city is by how dense the traffic is shouldn't be a function of how many blocks you have to drive down Main Street or past the school.

Traffic (thereby commuters and as-such jobs) around Detroit has most definitely taken a nose dive. From my mother-in-law's account, commuting from Lake Orion to Sterling Heights, on most Fridays you don't even realize it's a weekday even at the height of what used to be rush hour.

This is the second time he mismatches on purpose. His analogue life for other people is small town, but really it`s all about Bydand bullying other people and making grotesque childish claims about them.We should live under the denial that Bydand does.He has got a lot of guts to do this.If you follow him closely his posts do really have an adress. This is very indignating and outrageous.Bydand doesn`t even have a right to judge since he doesn`t live in Detroit or Lansing. Can you imagine someone from a far remote area imposing his views on others about a respective state? The ultimate shocker.

Actually I used to live in Detroit, as well as Dallas, TX. Come again on your remarks. And making remarks on how things are in other parts of the state is not bullying. I know that is a hard concept for you to grasp because we have gone over it before, and you still don't know the difference between a differing opinion and "bullying".

Hence, you no longer can give an accurate information on how things are in metro detroit. You tried to equate a small town with metro detroit
A differing opinion filled with personal attacks

And you try to equate Detroit with the rest of the State. I'm not the one calling names and crying if you go back and check the posts.

Welcome to the ignore list. You have nothing to add to a discussion and cannot keep it above personal remarks and attacks on those with a different opinion than you hold. As soon as somebody posts one, you cry like a baby about "bullying" and how it isn't right... bah, I don't have time to deal with kids online.

Why do you keep spinning it?Why do you try to associate me continously with the detroit only??Bydand the record of our posts speaks differently,so don`t even try to go there.
My post is valid on all the main areas of Michigan which includes all the suburbs. However, you have been slamming me with absurd theories. It is not accidental that you choose twice to equate your small town`s affairs with the suburbs of detroit. That would be trolling in my book.Have a good day.
