Default Liquidation furniture stores?

Back home we had several furniture stores where you could buy good quality furniture for low prices. I can't seem to find anywhere near Utica like that. We have nearly a whole house to furnish, and not a lot of $$ to do it with.
Can anyone recommend furniture stores (besides ArtVan, Garner-White,or Value-City)?
Thanks

Those are basically the big three funiture stores in Michigan. You could go to "TEC" funiture stores, they are going out of business and have many great deals. Go their FAST!! they have been having their "going out of business" sale all summer and some may be totally empty by now. I believe they have locations in Westland, Inkster, Ecorse and I believe the Detroit location is now closed.

Other stores I have gone to here in Novi are Gorman's (which is not really that cheap) and Jennifer Converitibles.

I got a really nice couch at Gardner White for very inexpensive. Also Big Lots has Sealy Beds and I got a tv stand that is a cherry finish. I was also going to suggest Ikea in Canton and Target has some things like coffee tables and desks. If you can't assemble which I can't I hired a guy of craigslist who put all my stuff together that was not from a big store in one afternoon.

Thanks for the suggestions. We did buy a livingroom set at Gardner white. It seemed like a good sale....till they added it all up, yikes. But anyway, it should be fine and at least we didn't have to pay sales tax.

It was my first experience with "bait and switch" tho. We went in to see a leather suite they had advertised in their flyer, and it was hard and yucky, so we bought something else instead.

I turned down a great leather livingroom set the day before at an estate sale, and someone else got it....don't think my husband will let me forget that for a while.

We also got a great deal on a solid oak bedroom set at a garage sale. It is just tricky finding garage sales on line...I wish they had it more isolated to areas...so you didn't have to go through all of them to find what you want. Ok, enough complaining. I can't wait for next weekend's sales.

If you're not opposed to buying from private parties, check out craigslist.
On a decorating forum I frequent, people are always finding great deals.
I don't know where you are in Michigan but they have separate lists for most of the major metro areas.
Go to craigslist.org -
click on Michigan on the right side under U.S. States -
click on the area/city you're interested in -
Furniture is in the For Sale column
