Say Yes to Michigan!
Don't forget Mohammed Ali and his daughter.
Also, Michigan is where the automobile was created and the State was or still remains the automotive capital of the world.
Lake Michigan is another great asset, as well the Soo Locks, and Mackinaw Bridge.

Ali? Lol, what? Do you mean Joe Louis? Ali was from Louisville, Kentucky.
And the automobile wasn't created in Detroit. That was the modern assembly line. The gas autombile was first created in Germany.
Lake Michigan is a great asset, but I don't see why you wouldn't mention Erie, Huron, and Superior as well.
Where do you get your facts?

Great thread! My wife attended U-M for 5 years in the 90s and now you're making me miss it. Just a little!
I don't miss January/February, though. And I love the snow.

Ali owned a large estate in NW Michigan and contributed both time and money to many charitable causes before his debilitating illness prevented him from being active.

I just wanted to chime in so people don't think your crazy. But Ali did live in Michigan for a long time. In fact my cousin being a very big fan walked right up to his door and knocked. Not sure who answered the door but they delivered the message from my cousin to Mr Ali and was invited in. My cousin spent the better part of an afternoon talking about boxing with his life long hero. So not only did he live here, he must have been one hell of a good resident to invite a bright eyed 17 year old kid into his home to talk about boxing.

Did not see Jeff Daniels or Tim Allen mentioned anywhere. Also (our local actor) Dax Shepperd. Also his co star from without a paddle Mathew Lillard was born in Lansing.
I honestly prefer landmarks and location then the famous people but just had to add a couple. Did anyone say Bob Seger?
Anyway there is SO much to love about Michigan. Some of the best snowmobiling trails. Let's just say ALL of the U.P. Cross that bridge and it's magical. The wildlife, the lakes, the hunting, fishing. The odors of spring in the air. Flowers and tree's blossoming.
Some of my favorite locations. Traverse City, ( Cherry Festival) Torch lake. Gaylord ( sorry just have a life long connection) Mackinac Island and on and on and on. Oh U.P pasties. Camping, any one of the many many metro and state parks.
