Question Anybody from Ypsilanti?

Hi, I lived in Ypsilanti for 34 years and moved 9 years ago to another state. Has Ypsilanti changed for the better or worse?

Thanks, John

Default Ypsi info

John1960

I live in Ypsilanti Township and there has been a lot of new subdivision built in the last 9 years. The doesn’t seem to be a lot of change in the city. I see you are in Cookeville, my dad lives off of 56 north of 40. If you want any specific information send me a pm

Hi there, I grew up in Ypsilanti and still have family there. Biggest change I can see is Michigan ave towards Canton. Lot of new warehouse type buildings going on there and have revamped how you get on and off Michigan ave there by Leggs. They have done that up very nice. Otherwise looks about the same to me. More trailer parks and subdivisions but not much different downtown area.

I live in Ypsi Twp as well. Have been here for about 12 yrs. Hasn't changed too much, besides what the others have said. Are you thinking about moving back or something? I am planning on moving down to the greater Nashville area in a few months. If I can find a job, maybe sooner. Not to hijack the thread, but how do you look back on your decision to move to TN?

I will never move to Michigan because health insurance here is only 250.00 a month compared to 600 a month in Michigan. Cost of living much cheaper here. City water and sewer is 20.00 a month for 3000 gallons. license plates are only 24.00 a year and you can have 50,000 motorhome and it's same price of 24.00 a year. No income tax here. The only bad thing here is the state sales tax is 9.75 % on everything. Now this is for the Cookeville area. Sale tax is a little cheaper near Nashville.

Thanks, John
