Low, low cost of living!
Aside from that... tons of forests, rivers and lakes to explore, which I plan to do lots of this summer. I have lived in Michigan nearly my whole life and have NEVER been to the U.P.! (gasp!)
Deeee-troit Basketball!
The Red Wings!
The Tigers!
Now, if only we can get those Lions up to snuff...!

For the umpteenth time ... it's seriously underrated.
Driving in Michigan is a pleasure; driving in Ohio is a chore.

i agree with everyone else's sentiments, especially now that it's summer time and the weather has been absolutely PERFECT. plus, did anyone know that MI and WI are the two states with the least money spent on natural disaster relief each year?
but my number 1 all time thing about Michigan:
It's shaped like a mitten.
Hell, we're America's high five!

Michigan's falls are the thing I like best about the State. Deep, deep blue skies, golden and crimson maple leaves, scarlet sumacs, bittersweet vines bright in their orange, sun glinting lower on lakes whose beachfronts are soft sand, air crackling crisp. Sure, other places have nice falls. But Michigan's are superb.

I like a lot about Michigan during September and October. Other than that, I like the way it looks from November through April on the Weather Channel......while I'm in Arizona!
