Personally, I would not live on Donora. (I assume the house is north of Mt. Hope.)

Nessatar, you would be correct in that assumption. the home i was viewing was right off motor ave. the next road south would be mt hope rd. I take it this is not a good area?
thanks for your reply!

Holt school are desireable because of how close they are to the south side of lansing. I'd send my kid to holt anyday of LPS. We live on the north side though and were able to use the school of choice to get him into Waverly schools. We were quite happy with the opening - lol.
And NO DONORA - hood rattish area. If you go east of Pennsylvania, north or south of Mt Hope, you'll be in a nicer area. Newer homes, less crackheads.

My sister lived in NW lansing area seemed like a real nice area. I worked in the E. Lansing area many, many years ago and had a blast there! If you can take the college atmosphere you will love it!

Anyone know about Spencer?
Hello everybody,
Great forum, thanks for all the advice. Anybody know anything about Spencer in Lansing, between Saginaw St and West Michigan Ave? It's east of Waverly, but north of Mt. Hope. Any idea? Thanks in advance ...

Personally, I think you be better off further west, on the other side of Waverly, if you can afford it. It will get more expensive the further west you go, but it is also much nicer and safer. Not sure if schools are important, but if I am correct, on the other side of Waverly the Waverly School District starts.
Unfortunately, if you have to ride the bus, it doesn't go much past Waverly to the west.

My wife and I are thinking of purchasing a house on Risdale near Holmes. We have children ages 4 months, 6,10,14 & 16. Any feedback on this area? Thanks in advance for any advice.
