Does anybody know if Bellville is diverse? Im thinking thats where I want to be since it is between the airport and Ann Arbor. Or does anyone know a city where I am 20 minutes from the airport AND 20 minutes from Ypsilanti that is diverese?

Ann Arbor is your best option.
Maybe parts of Livonia.
What are you looking for as far as diversity? Canton is in that area. I do not think that there are many black people in Canton, but it is pretty diverse (indian, asain, hispanic).

Diversity meaning many races, cultures, sexual orientations- just the whole spectrum lol. But since my job is 100% travel its important for me to be like 20 minutes from DTW. So which city has that- Canton or Livonia? Im not really interested in living in a college town anymore. I guess Im thinking back to living in Champaign and I know Ann Arbor is bigger but its still a college town to me....or is it?

Neither one.
For that type of diversity - Ferndale or Ann Arbor. That is about it. Ferndale is too far from DTW for you (about an hour). You might also like Royal Oak, but it is more conservative than Ferndale. You will not find much of an openly gay presence outside of Ferndale, Ann Arbor or some parts of Detroit. Lots of different cultures in Detroit area, but they tend to congregate together and not mix much, so few places will meet your concept of diversity. Dearborn has a large middle eastern population and is very close to the Ariport.
Ann Arbor is part college town, part business community. You cannot completely seperate the college town out, but the main downtown area is seperate and generally has different people.
Canton is bland subdivisions and big box stores. You probably would not like it. It has northern European, Asian and Indian populations. A tiny bit of others.
Take a look at Plymouth. It is probably too white and conservative for you, but it might interest you. It is a neat community and close to DTW. There are some nice farmhouses on the outskirts of Romulus only a few miles from DTW, but the only diversity is amongst the birds and wildlife.
Ypsilanti is pretty diverse in some ways, but it is also pretty run down and less safe than other places in the area. I do nto knwo for certain but I do not think that homosexuals would be conformatable nor safe in Ypsi. It is very blue collar, except for the college (EMU).
In the city, Downtown Detroit, Palmer Park, or the area around Wayne State University may interest you. You could also look at Hamtrammack. It is a bit rough, but somewhat mixed.
Realistically, you probably ar ento going to find exactly what you are looking for. PLease let us know where you choose.

Wyandotte is located on the Detroit River about 20 miles South of Detroit on the I-75. Get on Eureka and go east until it ends and you will be in Wyandotte. Go North (Left) to get to Downtown.
Wyandotte has a nead and livelly small old fashioned downtown. It is very walkable and fun both for shopping and dining/drinking. Lots of nice shops and resturaunds. Lots of independant places. Not a lot of chains.
Wyandotte has a lot of nice waterfront properties as well as various ages and sizes of homes inland. Houses are very affordable.
They have an outstanding rowing club.
They own their own power plant (good when prices of electricty go crazy).
Wyandotte is the home of the largest (only?) Hospital in the downriver area. (Henry Ford)
Wyandotte has a nice art festival in the summer. They also are on the route of one of the major classic car cruises.
Wyandotte has some really good churches some of which are in older buildings with classic architecture and lots of stained glass.
Wyandotte has very good freway access.
On the downside, Wyandotte still has several factories including a chemical plant; their schools are not very good (but Gabriel Richard - private school is pretty decent); they have some bad areas, especially along the border with Ecorse; most homes are older and not real large (but a lot of them are really nice). A lot of residents are (or were) employed by Ford ro Chrysler. Traffic and crime are both a bit higher than other nearby areas (like Trenton for example).

I thought the Henry Ford Hospital was down the street from the Motown Museum? Like off the Lodge? Is this the same area? Wyandotte sounds like a great place to live! How far do you think from DTW?
