Well we are making taking the plunge!

Been planning on moving for over a year now. I have 4 houses that I have been unable to sell...luckily she along qualified for the amount needed. Such a tough market/situation in MI.

It's in Tomball, Texas (Suburb of Houston) and is 5bd/3.5 Bath with Game Room/Study/Formal Living/Formal Dining/Home Theatre Room and a 3 car garage. The house is just over 4300sq feet in a gated/guarded subdivision and is a foreclosure.

Scooped it up for 190k...pretty much it's full asking price.

It's going to be hard to leave my business, friends, and family behind in Michigan...but I think it's the best for the both of us. It's a different world down here...and we love it

Best wishes to ya'll!

It's kinda hard to believe, but I guess the housing prices in Texas are lower than they are in Michigan--and with Texas you get a radically better economy and job market.

Good Luck! You couldnt PAY me to live there though. Too close to the street, too close to the neighbors, ugh!

You and me both!! <shivers in horror> Give me a little shack on ten acres of land any day over that.

But different strokes for different folks. Best of luck to ya.

Nope, not joking and thanks for the kind words.

I've been planning the move for a little over a year...with the rapid fall in housing prices here I wasnt able to purchase my 'perfect' house (which would have this house on 1 acre, but youre talking 100k more in a superb area)...but this will do for now I need to get out of MI before it gets worse...which you can bet on with the upcoming merger

Hope to hear something tomorrow...

Default Welcome to Houston!

Yes - nice houses here really are that cheap! So is gasoline & other living expenses. We also don't have state income tax down here. Now on the down side....wait till you see your 1st property tax bill and experience your first Houston summer(Summer is from May till September with temps in the mid to high 90s and 95% humidity). You also haven't experience gridlock until you've drive the 610 beltway at rush hour. Planning on an hour and a half for a 15 mile drive is the norm here

Default I love Tomball, TX

I think you will really enjoy living in Tomball. I have been to Tomball a bazillion times and I worked there one summer. I know a really great dentist a few miles away. Dr. Preston Cutbirth. He is beyond awesome. (and very funny) Tomball has everything you could want in a small area and you are not far from major freeways and the mall. (Willowbrook)

Be sure and try the Whistle Stop. You will love the portion sizes and prices. It is wonderful hole in the wall place.

Congratulations!!

As always, everything is bigger in Texas!
