Default Any recommendations on Moving Companies

We've sold our house -- yes taking a check to closing OUCH! So we're trying to keep our moving expense down. Does anyone know of a good reliable mover that is also reasonable. We moving from MI to SC - so not a local move.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

We used Corrigan from Novi when we moved to Florida last year. They were great and most professional. ( Moved a large 3 BR) Do your self a favor and check out Untitled Document. Be extreamly cautious if you go online to get quotes, lots of scams out there. I got burned when moving a one bedroom apt back to MI from FL this summer.

That previous posting should have read to check out movingscams.com. Lots of good info there. Also check out the better business bureau for a recommendation.

THANK YOU - will check out Corrigan, and also website -- I've heard horror stories of moving scams and that is EXACTLY what I was trying to avoid.

You might want to check into National Moving or North American Van Lines. We have a good friend that has been in the moving business for 20+ years. My husband was as well. He loads and unloads quite frequently in Michigan, and the Carolinas. No matter who you go with ask for the drivers rating. this will show how many claims he has had. (damaged items) People think they dont have a right to ask, but you do. Good Luck.
