Yep, I live in a town with less than 1000 people. Gaylord is our "big city". I only go to big cities (Chicago, Dallas, etc) because I have to to visit relatives that are scared to be out in the woods with the "big bad bears", and "nothing to do".

I know what traffic is, and choose to reject it. Life's too short to sit in traffic. Kalkaska is bad, (so is Gaylord and Grayling in the summer), and I don't even go to Traverse City unless I have to.

I suggested AREAS TO THE SOUTH AND WEST OF TC, not TC itself.

Glad I could provide some amusement though.....

I stayed in Kalkaska 4 years ago when I had to have cancer surgery in Traverse City and found it to be quite beutiful! This is coming from someone who lives in the U.P. I loved the farm and wine areas, and it was close enough to the "big city" of Traverse City. I liked it so much that I want to go back for a road trip some day.

I currently live in Kalkaska. You can DM me with any questions that you may have. I'd be glad to help.

Kalkaska is a very nice area to live in....I've been driving to and from TC for work for the past 10 years...yes winter time can be a pain to travel in but before you know it winter is over...depends on your preference. Yes I have seen lots of traffic...I travel downstate to the Flint area often but on a friday afternoon, Kalkaska has alot of traffic and its all those people from the Flint area and surrounding cities coming up here for the summer. lol Ever seen the traffic on 75 on friday's heading north in the summertime and alot of them go threw Kalkaska to get to where they are going. Have a great day.
