How to find a home to buy on land contract?
We are looking to buy a home on land contract in A2.
Does anyone have any advice on how to find potential sellers that might be open to this?
Or realtors that might be helpful?
Thanks!
Sue

I am new. Where or what is A2? Are you sure you want a land contract?
You can simply have a seller carry back. Land contracts do not give
you ownership until all payments are made.

A2, sorry. It is Ann Arbor........Washtenaw County.
I pretty much know the pros and cons of a land contract, but would prefer it.

I bought a home on land contract years ago in Michigan. I just went through a regular real estate agent. I think it was Real Estate One. No big deal. Good luck.

Thanks!
It seems everyone wants a mortgage nowadays, and real estate agents are put off by the land contract......

We bought land on a land contract- I spent hours looking online to everyone from real estate agents (one tried to sell us 20 acres that was going to be zoned for commercial only, and didn't tell us that..) to Craigslist (which is where we found the person we purchased the land from)--there are a lot of 'sell it yourself' places online, although at the moment, I can't think of any, lol- just put things in search engines and see what comes up- my mind was gone by the time I finished doing it, things were just a blur- but in the end, it worked out-!

I have heard about it for land......but would like to do a land contract for a home.
I will keep looking at the forsalebyowner list and craigslist. Craigslist seems to be very overpriced in Ann Arbor at this time.

Actually, for quite a long time we were looking at homes on land, and there were a lot of them on a land contract- the problem for us, was we wanted at least 10 acres, and we were coming up with things that were on maybe 3/4 acre, 1 acre, etc.- with the price of real estate as low as it is, and the trouble people are having even finding buyers, and the glut of homes on the market? My bet is you wouldn't have any trouble at all finding a home on a land contract, and very reasonably priced, as well!
