We are thinking about moving to the Traverse City area in the next year or two. Actually it is between the westside of the state or the TC area. I love lake Michigan, and would love to be over that way, but we also do a lot of camping and would love to be closer to the middle of the state and easy access to the U.P and other great northern areas.
Anyways, I own a business where I make molds for cement statues, and I also sell cement statues. (See my molds on Ebay)
i am wondering if anyone who lives in the TC area can tell me if there are any statuary businesses there? I guess it does not matter since we would probably not carry all the same thing, but just curious. The molds are the main money, the statues are a very nice side income and I would love to sell them in that area.

Offhand, I recall seeing a place on 115 between Mesick & Cadillac, or, it could be on the same road between Cadillac & Claire. It's been a few months since I've been down that way.

Not sure if it's still there or not but there used to be a place between Mancelona and Kalkaska on 131 that had a bunch of cement statues out front. From really small to HUGE elephants. Quite the place to see going down the road when you're a little kid.

Good luck up there!

It was still there last time I was that direction. That was a year or so ago now though.

There is one just north of Kalkaska on 31. It has the big cement elephant and hippo out front.
