But their world headquarters are already in Midland. I can't speak for anyone in Kuwait but why is Dow changing? Dare I hope they're expanding their operations? Making the world safer for Ziploc bags?

I think this new co. K-Dow will be headquartered in Detroit.
Dow will still be in Midland.

Yes, it's a new joint venture chemical company between Dow and a Kuwaiti company. They really liked Southeast Michigan because of its large Middle Eastern population. They plan on transferring/hiring a lot of people from Kuwait for their operations, and they want their people to feel welcome. However, I hear they are now looking at space in Ann Arbor over Detroit, or looking to build in A2. They will eventually employ 800 and will be a $17 Billion company right out of the gate.
