Exactly, which is why I took offense to your "Those that voted for someplace else have obviously never been to Keweenaw" comment. It was kind of obnoxious, although after reading your last post I'm not sure you meant for it to be.

Someone else mentioned the Leelanau region, and I just wanted to add a voice of accord for that. My best memory from last summer was the day I spent on the Leelanau peninsula bouncing between wineries and taking in the incredible beauty of the water and countryside over there. Spectacular place to be and see.

Naw..... I was just pulling your chain. However , I do think those that have seen it all , do have a little more creditability. I have no Idea what you have seen and what not, therefore my statement WAS over the top, sorry.

Leelanau, hands down.

Nice pics. The one of yellow trees against the clouds is quite striking.

Sigggghhhh.... I think if people knew how beautiful this state was, they'd be far more inclined to build exciting new industries here (sustainably, of course, to protect and restore its beauty).

Honestly I have been thinking of this question off and on for several days now and cannot come up with a set answer. We have so many stunningly beautiful areas of our state that I really cannot pin down one County or City. It would all depend on my mood and what I was looking for that day. We have everything almost, and are only lacking the true Mountains (Western UP doesn't compare to the Rockies or other real tall majestic mountain ranges). Everything from Sugar sand beaches, to ski hills. 4 of the 5 Great Lakes, to small rivers and lakes; all so clean and clear it is almost impossible to imagine. Tall city skylines to tiny tucked away hamlets and villages. Automotive racetracks to tons of walking/hiking paths. Sunrises on the East side that rival anything the East Coast has to offer, to sunsets on the West side that will rival anything the West Coast has to offer. Even when it comes to mountains, we have about the same as the Appalachian mountains in the East, only prettier in my opinion.

Can I just pick the entire state and call it good? I really can't pick one area over another. I live in Mason County, but wouldn't call it better than most other ones in the State; wouldn't call it worse either.

Torch lake is a sight to see , the first time. A classic example of a Glacier lake , in the same mold as Lake Geneva, Finger lakes , and others. These are special places.

My vote - Leelanau.
I lived there for 13 years and was always inspired and awed by the beauty of it.
A lil too tricky to make a good living there sent me packing though. I miss it every summer!
