Default Best places to live around the St. Clair area....

We're a young family, able to spend in the 300+ region for a house. Pretty liberal. I'm a photographer/writer. We loved So. NH when we lived there. Originally form the UK, miss the ocean. Looking for great shopping, entertainment, schools, safe community that is pretty close knit....

thanks for all your advice

I used to teach school in Port Huron which is near St. Clair. We also camp in St. Clair at Thousand Trails. It is a very nice area. The people are friendly and I would move there myself if I could.

With a young family, I would look for a house in East China School District. With the budget that you have available for your house and the declining house prices here, you should be able to get a house on or near the St. Clair River. The area is also pretty close knit, I have been told.

Port Huron will be about fifteen minutes away and it has great shopping.

Hope this helps,
Leisa
