Pharmacy Technician is a good field to get into. WIth the aging population, Meds are the future. CVS and Walgreens are opening new stores weekly.

Add that to another problem trying to hire - "Where can I find someone who wears his pants above his butt?"

Here in Lansing things are bleak. My fiance has an medical assistant certification and has never once been able to use it for there are little to none MA jobs open here in Lansing.

Pharm. Tech is great but you cant support a family with a couple kids, rent/mortg., lights etc. Although "something" is better than nothing but... I personally have had enough here. (my 2cents")

Really?
No doctor offices??

My sister got her phlibotomy (sp?) certificate and got a job at a GYN office... she started out as a blood drawer, and now is the manager of the practice.

She wasn't sure to get the job because she was not an MA. It would seem that there are so many practices starting (doctors graduating from school and joining/forming practices every year).

In places like Charlotte, where we live, a few of the doctors moved/left/opened their own practices which in turn left 8 MA's all of with 15 yrs of experience open looking for jobs. She can't compete with that, and its the same in most areas. She has scoured various resources for months looking and nothing ever opens up.
