We are relocating , family of four with two little kids to St. Joe area. We checked out the rentals but they were cramped and worn out and no laundary in the apartements. Would be interested in small homes ( 2-3 bedroom) up for rentals in that area or any condominiums up for rent would aslo do . Would greatly appreciate any help on this from local people out there who could guide us regarding where to look for renting. Also how is the area to live for a family/ crime rate/ activities for kids/ things to do/ shopping /dining etc?

Thanks

I'd post this in the general Michigan section. You might get better response. St Joe is quite a distance from Grand Rapids.

Hi there, I saw your post and wanted to let you know St. Johns area qualifies for the Rural Development program. It's insured by the USDA and they will do 100% financing. Most people can get into the house for less than $1,000 out of pocket. The current rate on that program is 5.50% for a 30 yr fixed rate.

The best thing is that USDA allows people to be straight out of Bankruptcy or Foreclosure with a 620 credit score.
if no BK or FC, than score does not matter.
