Come on now....that is a broad and loaded statement......based on false talking points.LOL..... We CAN have both , a clean healthy environment, and , a cost productive industry. Example , just look at what electric smelting has done for the steel industry. Its all about modernizing our infrastructure.

No - but Monsanto might invent a peach with a 50-year shelf life. Most likely, it would be immune from digestion too!

WE , is us , we are the Government , in this Republic. WE elect our people to represent us. In a true democracy ( which we are not ) , the middle man would be eliminated.
Our Government is the largest employer , the largest consumer , spender , defender , and all around provider , cause , our Government is US. We are the enemy , take a look in the mirror.

And then, China would copy it and sell it for less.

Where would you get that idea ? You can't have it all. If you could ( no elected Government ) , than we would not be a democratic republic. We would be a Fascist state , much like Nazi Germany was, when all private industry was controlled by a very few " select" peoples. Socialism is not a bad word , just like too much of anything , is not good . We need a balance , putting , the people first , not the other way around.

In an economy, what are the four/five uses of persons?

1) Invent things. (Inventor) - so that Manufacturers can make things.

2) Make things. (Manufacturer) - For the benefit of persons 2-4.

3) Consume things (Consumer) - so that Manufacturers will make things.

4) Destroy things (Military) - so that Manufacturers will make things.

Am I right? Wonder what Ludwig Von Mises would have to say.

5) Copy things. (Sometimes an Infringer) - See 2 above.

Well now, that's a pretty anthopocentric statement!
